Matthew Hunke graduated from UMD with a degree in music education with a vocal emphasis. While he was in undergrad, he performed in numerous choirs, chamber groups, vocal jazz ensembles, and even an opera! He also served as an intern for the Lake Superior Youth Chorus, working with young male singers undergoing their voice change. He is currently sings with the Twin Port’s Choral Project. Matthew has been playing bass guitar for over a decade and recently played for the Zeitgeist Theater’s production of RENT. His favorite genres to play are punk, metal, and jazz. Matthew has been playing piano since childhood and specializes using music theory to teach improvisation and playing by ear. He currently lives in Duluth and teaches choir at Harbor City International School.
