Matt is a versatile multi-instrumentalist from Hopkins, Minnesota. Studied classical double bass with Christopher Brown, former principal bassist of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and jazz composition with Dean Sorenson. He describes himself as an in-demand double bass player working in a variety of settings, from area orchestras to jazz clubs to professional theatre. He is a regular on guitar and bass guitar with local bands multiple nights a week and play music regularly at many different Twin Cities church functions. He has a passion for making music for theatre, and have been in pits for Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Ashland Productions, Theatre Elision, Collide Theatrical, Brilliant Fête, Project Success, and many more in the future! He is comfortable teaching double bass, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, and ukulele. Many of the opportunities he has gotten in performance have come from a strong sight-reading and theory background, and hopes to lay the foundation for those skills with all students using music students are already familiar with.
