Claire Zwiefelhofer is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance in 2022. She studied clarinet with Jennifer Gerth and Sangyoon Kim, and conducting with Mark Russell Smith. Claire subs with the Wayzata Symphony, Mankato Symphony, St. Cloud Symphony, Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra, and Mississippi Valley Symphony. She has won and placed in several competitions, including the Thursday Musical, King’s Peak International, Marker and Pioneer International, and Rico: Take First National. She completed one year of a Master of Music degree at DePaul University in Chicago. She studied clarinet with Julie DeRoche, and enjoyed conducting and working with the students of the DePaul Orchestra Club, a non-music major orchestra on campus. Claire is dedicated to helping students thrive and enjoy their craft. When she is not making music or teaching, you can find Claire cooking for friends, biking, or enjoying nature with her camera in hand.
